420, 2021: IS IT A GO THIS YEAR?

We are sad to announce that this year’s Mile High 420 Festival in Civic Center Park has been cancelled. Mark your calendars for 2022 as it will be one for the books!

Denver’s signature stoner event, FlyHi 420 Festival, has been cancelled for a second year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but there are still plenty of ways to get lit on April 20.

Here are 10 events, deals and ideas to spark inspiration for the cannabis-friendly holiday.

Grab mobile munchies

Brands Veritas Fine CannabisOlio and Cookies are teaming up with food trucks around Colorado to offer enthusiasts a complementary pairing to their marijuana buzz. When customers purchase any products from the aforementioned companies at participating dispensaries, they’ll receive a voucher for a free food truck meal. Food trucks will be stationed in the parking lots of 20 dispensaries in Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Trinidad and Vail, and will begin serving at either 11 a.m. or 4 p.m. depending on the location.

Visit Veritas on Facebook for a full list of venues and food providers.

Binge a podcast about Colorado cannabis

If you’re looking for more of a cerebral celebration, dive into two riveting podcasts about marijuana in the country’s first legal market. On Something, produced by Colorado Public Radio and PRX, takes a look at life after legalization in the Centennial State — for better and for worse. On April 20, the podcast will drop a trailer for its latest season, slated for a May 11 debut, but there are two excellent seasons just waiting to be binged on your favorite podcast app.

The Syndicate explores one of the biggest illegal marijuana operations in the state. Hosted by Denver journalist Chris Walker, the podcast takes listeners on skydiving planes filled with weed and into the backrooms of a grow warehouse where loopholes in Colorado laws led to the rise and fall of a local smuggling ring

Bonkers

Bonkers is absolutely fire and could definitely have a big year, and there’s a couple of versions of it out there.

One of them is from Exotic Genetix, and crosses their famous Cookies and Cream with Lemon Tree. It has a citrus, creamy flavor that produces a smooth and easy high. Another Bonkers is from Canada’s Next Generation Seeds. The BC seed company crosses Grapefruit, Burmese, Purple Indica, and a ruderalis to produce their Bonkers. It tastes like berries and creates a powerful body high that can glue you to the couch.

WiFi Cake

As stated above, with Wedding Cake’s continued popularity, we’re sure to see even more hybrids with its genetics. Currently, you’re probably most familiar with Ice Cream Cake (Wedding Cake x Gelato) and Jungle Cake (White Fire #43 x Wedding Cake). In 2021, expect to see WiFi Cake push the Cake namesakes even deeper into cannabis culture.

WiFi Cake is a Jungle Boys creation that crosses Wedding Cake with the legendary White Fire OG, better known as WiFi.
