Euro Results: Harutyunyan, Kalenga, O’Rourke, Magnesi, More

On April 24 in Hamburg, Germany – lightweight Artem Harutyunyan (10-0) won the vacant WBA International title with a close but unanimous decision over late sub Vladyslav Melnik (13-4).

It was scored 115-113 twice and 115-114. Melnik was a sub for Pablo Manuel Ojeda, who in turn was a sub for Oliver Flores. This fight headlined Universum’s big gym show.

On the undercard heavyweight Senad Gashi (21-3) stopped big – 300 lbs – Dominik Vial (6-1) in the third round.

Oltighof, Germany: Super middleweight Kamer Maloku (11-2) stopped Swedish based Ugandan Michael Obin (5-9) in the third round. Obin was retired by his corner. Maloku is now ready for a fight for a title to be held in Kosovo in August.

Gersthofen, Germany: US-based Macedonian super middleweight Gorjan Slaveski (8-2) won the vacant UBF Euro strap by stopping Bosnian Slavisa Miodrag (7-3) in the sixth.

Alcala le Real, Spain: Irish welterweight Ryan O´Rourke (6-0) outscored Israel Munoz (2-18) in an eight rounder. It was scored 80-71 twice and 80-72.

Ponte Sainte Maxence, France: Serbian journeyman Ognjen Raukovic (7-19) upset local hero and former French middleweight champ  Karim Achour (27-7-3) in a six rounder.

Flobecq, Belgium: Super middleweight Cedric Spera (15-9) knocked out previously unbeaten Julien Demeyer (5-1) in the sixth of a scheduled 8-rounder.

On April 23 in Belgrade, Serbia: Russian super middleweight Sergej Gorokhov (11-2-2) was too strong for Marko Nkolic (25-1), who was stopped in the tenth and final round with the vacant WBC International Silver title at stake.

Gdansk, Poland: Cruiserweight Youri Kalenga (26-6) outclassed Michal Plesnik (9-5) and won on a knockout in the ninth round. The WBC sanctioned this fight for its Francophone crown.

Zagarolo, Italy: Super featherweight Michael Magnesi (19-0) retained the IBO lightweight title by stopping South African Khanyile Bulana (12-1) in the very first round.
