The She Ready Internship Program

The She Ready Internship Program connects transition-age foster youth with transformative experiences in the media, arts and entertainment industries. The program is supported by Tiffany Haddish’s She Ready Foundation and Ready To Succeed, a Career Accelerator for foster youth, who will provide training, mentorship and ongoing support. Selected applicants will have the opportunity to develop valuable skills and develop a network of industry professionals.

In January 2016, two non-profit veterans, Romi Lassally and Patrick McCabe, saw the opportunity to transform outcomes with targeted support—to take the foster youth that were motivated, ambitious, and tenacious enough to make it to college and ensure they had the resources, relationships, and opportunities they needed to succeed there and in all facets of life. The Read to Succeed Act is a strong initiative that focuses on mastery of reading skills before students advance to fourth grade. Beginning in the 2017-18 school year, third-grade students who are not reading on grade level may be retained.
